Below is some information about who I am and how I got into goldsmithing.

I 💜 hand-crafted.

Goldsmithing itself goes back a long way in time and is therefore a truly old-fashioned craft. But nowadays, by applying modern techniques, this is no longer the case. The basics remain the same, but so much more is possible than before, and it continues to develop, which makes it so interesting.

I love making my jewelry. Make sketches, come up with ideas and get inspiration! Then the manual work begins and all kinds of separate elements come together. Think of different precious metals, gemstones and tools. Techniques such as melting, sawing, drilling, filing, milling, sanding, polishing, setting stones and soldering are used to create something beautiful!

And so all those separate elements are combined into a beautiful, unique piece of jewelry. A piece of jewelry that is usually not just a piece of jewelry, but that customers can wear with them for years, which is associated with emotion.

Diploma goldsmith entrepreneur

A long time ago I went to an open day at the Vakschool in Schoonhoven. After this I knew that this study was for me and after I completed HAVO I started the Goldsmith Entrepreneur Accelerated course. Time flew by and 3 years later I got my diploma, the real adventure began and I could start making jewelry in my own style.

Metallo nobile, Florence

But I soon noticed that I wanted to learn even more new techniques because you don't quickly get tired of learning this profession and there is so much possible. I took up a challenge and spent 3 months alone in Italy. In beautiful 'Florence'. I learned a lot at a small traditional goldsmith school and was able to admire the great style of jewelry from Florence.

Experience on the work floor / own company

When I returned from Italy, I had learned various techniques and wanted to gain more experience in the field itself. So I started as a goldsmith at a large goldsmith repair company that works for jewelers from all over the country. In order to gain additional experience with repairs and new work, in addition to starting my own company. Through this company I was also able to take an extra course in setting small gemstones in, among other things, pavé setting under the microscope. This is done via a machine that works with pneumatic impact force, in order to be able to set and engrave (small) stones with extra beautiful detailed quality.

Dutch guild of goldsmiths

After this, I became a member of the Dutch Guild of Goldsmiths through a balloting process. Where quality and a high degree of craftsmanship are central. I joined this to continue learning and to continue to improve and maintain quality.
